When Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California, commissioned this sculpture as a memorial to organ and tissue donors, the goal was the creation of something uplifting and inspiring. The result was Lifted Spirits, a colorful swath of blue and green titanium butterflies spiraling heavenward around a tall, gracefully twisting stainless steel base. The colors are significant: the blue butterflies represent
adult donors while the smaller green butterflies represent child donors.
